Obituary of Ingeburg Emmie Walter

Ingeburg Emmie Walter Pawlet, VT – Ingeburg E. Walter passed away at her home on June 20, 2018. She was born in Wuppertal, Germany on November 18, 1926 the daughter of August and Emmi Zibrowius. She was the widow of Norbert Walter. Inge met Norbert at the age of 17 in Germany where he was serving in the US Army in World War II. After his military service he returned to Germany to find her and propose. They were married and moved to Long Island. Together they were proprietors of a Delicatessen in Long Island until they retired at which time they moved to Vermont. Inge was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and siblings Anneliese Stallknecht, Heinz Zibrowius and Christel Rohmert. She is survived by a sister Annegret Lesser and brother Holger Zibrowius in Germany and nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her rescue companion Missy and her dear friend and caregiver Lucy and Bud Harrington. At her request there was no visitation or funeral service. Inge will be laid to rest with her husband on their beloved property in Vermont. Memorial contributions may be made to an animal rescue facility in Inge's name as she and Norbert rescued many dogs over the years, giving them a good and loving home. They found comfort in their rescue dogs and it would please them if others could find forever homes as well. Arrangements were entrusted to the Robert M King Funeral Home, 23 Church St., Granville.
