Obituary of Wilma Susan Martindale

Wilma S. Martindale Granville, NY – Wilma S. Martindale, age 85, passed away peacefully at Glens Falls Hospital on Saturday July 22, 2018. Wilma was born on February 6, 1933 in Danby, Vermont the daughter of the late Edgar and Alice (Hart) Corey. Wilma was a very special person and a great Mom. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was always kind no matter the situation. She was one that would gladly give you the shirt off her back. She was a wonderful cook and baker. She baked breads and sold them at the farmer's market for many years. Most recently she was a cook at the Wells Village School. A job she loved and did for 20 years. She did wonderful crochet and knitting projects and was also a quilter. Wilma was predeceased by her parents, her husband Frank Martindale and a son Howard. Siblings who predeceased her were Harry Corey, Marguerite Corey, Mabel Davies, Mae Ely, and Marie Eiserman. Survivors are her children: Darlene Lussier (Wayne) of Wells, VT, Frank Martindale of Granville, Timothy Martindale (Ginger) of Granville, Brian Martindale of Hartford, Peggy Martindale and her fiancé Robert Engel of W. Charlton, NY and Thomas Martindale (Susanne) of Hebron. She will be missed by her brother Edgar Corey, and sisters Lena Shattuck, Helen Montgomery, Gloria Alden and Linda Dorman. Wilma was blessed with 21 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 28,2018 at 2:30 PM at the Robert M King Funeral Home, 23 Church St., Granville, Friends may call from 1 PM until the time of the service.
