Obituary of Francis C. Conro

Francis C. Conro Middletown Springs, VT & Webster, FL - Francis C. Conro Francis (Frenchy) Charles Conro passed away peacefully on July 22, 2018 in Middletown Springs, VT. He was born in Hampshire IL on January 23, 1934 to Alfred John and Rose Catherine Herrmann Conro. After attending school in Genoa he enlisted in the navy and served on the USS Ross. He married Bonnie Groen on July 7, 1956. Together they raised 3 children. Frenchy, an avid Packer fan, loved camping, traveling, and building things. He was very active in many organizations in the Genoa area and was a proud Veteran of the Korean War. After retirement Frenchy and Bonnie moved to their Ojibwa WI summer home and finally landed in Webster FL. They spent many happy years in the Sunshine State. After Bonnie passed in 2009 he met Janice Harsha and they married on July 18, 2011. The couple continued to travel and in later years divided their time between Florida and Vermont. He was preceded in death by his first wife Bonnie, his parents, his brother Ralph, his sister Theresa Freeman, brothers-in-law Vernon Freeman and James Corson. He is survived by his children Rhonda (Steve) Henke, Barbara (Ken) Reinert, Michael (Jenny) Conro, his wife Janice and her children in New York, Laurie (Leo) Chamberlain, Robert (Linda) Harsha, and Brian (Siralok) Harsha. He is also survived by a brother Anthony (Nancy) Conro, 2 sisters Marie Corson, and Sally (George) Owens, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Cremation was entrusted to the Robert M. King Funeral Home in Granville, NY. A private grave side service in Genoa, IL will be held at a later date.
