Obituary of Kimberly Ann Collins

Kimberly A. Collins North Granville, NY - Kimberly "Kim" Collins passed as the result of a house fire on October 20th, 2018. Kim was born on November 8th, 1960 in Seoul, Korea to Frederick and Augusta (Perino)Collins as the first American baby born at the Seoul Military Hospital. After traveling the world, her family settled in North Granville, NY to open the Fairvale Inn and later the Slate Valley Diner where Kim learned the culinary arts from her mother. Kim continued to share her love of cooking as a chef at the Equinox Resort and many area restaurants. Kim was a 1978 graduate of Granville High School. She traveled to Egypt and Tunisia while studying Hospitality and Tourism at SUNY Adirondack. Kim loved traveling, music and helping others. She cared greatly for both the people and the animals around her, often taking in rescues and strays. She is survived by her father Frederick, daughter Sara Collins, son Greg Miller, brother Tom Collins, sisters Kelly Craig and Toby Norton, and their families including many nieces and nephews as well as her aunts Patricia, Helen, Alice, and Anna. Kim was a good friend and would wish everyone to have a meal with her family. In lieu of funeral services, we will have such a meal with friends and family in warmer weather this spring, details to follow. Donations in her memory may be made to local fire departments, EMS, or to the Daschund Rescue of North America. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Robert M King Funeral Home, Granville, NY.
