Obituary of Kathryn Grabowski

Kathryn Bernardo Grabowski Rutland, VT – Kathryn Bernardo Grabowski (Kathy) born on May 31, 1941, passed away peacefully with family at her bedside at The Meadow in Rutland on October 22, 2018. Kathy was born in Granville, NY. She was the first child of Ernest and Mary (Prieur) Bernardo. Kathy is survived by Paul Grabowski and their two sons; Brett Grabowski (Jennifer) of Burlington, VT and Dusty Grabowski, Park City, Utah; sister, Christine Pietryka (Stanley), Lake Bomoseen, VT. She was predeceased by two brothers: Joseph Bernardo, Paul Bernardo (Roxanne) and a niece Julia C. Bernardo. Kathy has three beautiful grandchildren: Jake, Madison and Kailey Grabowski, four nieces: Lisa Caler, Kim Hetrick (John), Laura Trumpower (Kurt), and Joanna C. Bernardo and several great nieces and nephews who she adored. First cousins: Tina Glasier (Ken) and Jack Prouty (Joanna) and their families. Kathy graduated from Granville High School in 1958 and from the University of New York at Potsdam in 1962. During the next three years, she taught Mathematics in Oneonta and Glens Falls, NY. In 1965, she moved to Rochester, NY to continue on with a successful career in education for 26 years. After her retirement, she became successful as a Real Estate Broker for 20 years. Kathy was a member of the Rochester Greater Association of Realtors, the Rochester Home Builder's Association and the Rochester Woman's Council of Realtors. Kathy will be remembered for her warm smile and genuine kindness to everyone. She was a devoted, selfless and dedicated other, wife and co-worker. Services will be at the convenience of her family.
