She did hold many of us close like we we her kids. I worked with her in the cafeteria under the direction of Betty Toman on a youth advisory council and those years propelled me toward hospitality. I have thought of her many times over the years since graduation and I still can feel her strong life force in the form of her smile and the kind and warm generosity she led her life with toward me. I know you are missed by many, many, many people. Sending oceans of love.

Lori, I am heartbroken for you and your family. I just found out a few minutes ago and with tears rolling down my face please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful mother. I always enjoyed all of the stories you would tell me about your Mom and visits home. You just lit up when you spoke of her and I knew how close you were and what an important part of your life she was and will always be. My Mom will be there to greet her and she will be in great company. You are an awesome person, a great friend and a wonderful daughter. Please let me know if you need anything. Thinking of you. HUGS. Maria

So sorry to hear of Dee's passing. Dee hired me to work for her in the kitchen at the school. She was a great boss, friend and confidant. We had a great time. The last time that I seen Dee she gave me a hug and said I was beautiful and she gave me a kiss. Dee will have a special place in my heart!! My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. Love Anne RIP my friend!!

Many of us have known Dee for years, but I had the joy and privilege of working with her at South Granville Congregational Church when she was the coordinator of our new Sunday School program called Kids Church. She was a kind, and loving lady. I'm sorry for your loss. May she rest in peace.

My first memory of Dee was in the cafeteria at the junior senior high school. I was going thru the lunch line as a new teacher all of 23 years old! She thought I was a student! She apologized to me and I told her “it’s a gift!” The women in my family look younger then they are! From there we became friends! I always felt like she was looking out for me. A dear, sweet, kind woman.May her eternal rest be joyous, reunited with loved ones and friends! Till we meet again Dee!
