Obituary of Cynthia Ann Collard

Cynthia Ann Cramer-Collard West Pawlet, VT – Cynthia Ann Cramer-Collard passed away at her home on December 6, 2021, after courageously battling cancer since earlier this year. Cindy was born in Granville, NY on July 15, 1958, the daughter of James "Robin" and Sylvia (Corey) Cramer Sr. of West Pawlet. Growing up as a farmer's daughter, Cindy was a strong-willed, hardworking woman. She had a heart of gold when it came to her four-legged friends. Cindy always had a knack for caring, rehabilitating, and of course spoiling any animal she crossed paths with. It was no surprise, she had a menagerie of creatures throughout the years, her own little funny farm she would joke. Cindy met her husband Tom, also a young farmer and aspiring businessman from Central New York. With no surprise, the independent woman that she was, swore up hill and down to her lifelong friends Russell and Connie Bronson that she was not marrying that flatlander. However, what happened could not have been farther from the truth. Following their marriage in 1990, Cindy would soon become a mother to their daughter Katie and then eventually to their son Corey. Cindy had the pleasure of being a stay-at-home mom until the kids reached school-age. She adored being a mother and made it her first priority; she was always their biggest supporter. Later in life, Cindy became an active member in the community as a Pre-K teaching assistant and local school bus driver. Her love for children wasn't just sprinkled on her own children. Working at the school also opened the door for friendships for Cindy, one blossoming with her dear friend Lisa Wood. Cindy also had a great passion for sewing, painting and crocheting. There were not many arts and crafts she didn't enjoy or excel at. For many years, she would make homemade gifts for everyone around the holidays and for baby showers. Even when life was hectic, Cindy had time to sew her most desired commodity-memorial bears. With the clothing from a deceased loved one, she would sew together individual bears as a keepsake for surviving family members and friends. In May 2021 Cindy was diagnosed with Stage 3 cancer. She bravely underwent treatment in Glens Falls following her diagnosis. Her fight was not easy, but she was determined to win, despite the pain and overall toll treatments took on her mind and body. Cindy remained hopeful and discrete about her trying battle. Unfortunately, it relentlessly spread throughout her body and most dangerously to her brain; making her battle not one she would win. Cindy was predeceased by her father Robin, her brother Nelson "John" Cramer, her lifelong best friend Connie Bronson and her recently deceased bloodhound, Maggie. She is survived by her husband Thomas, her daughter Katie and son Corey. Left to mourn the loss is her mother Sylvia Cramer, brother James R. "Jim" Cramer Jr and Uncle Bruce Cramer. With the holidays approaching and the rise of COVID-19 outbreaks, the family has decided to host a celebration of her life this coming summer.
