Obituary of Doris Lorraine Carrera

Doris Carrera Middle Granville, NY - Doris Lorraine (Casey) Carrera, 83, of Middle Granville, New York, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2017 at her home. Born on July 31, 1934 in Dorset, Vermont, the daughter of the late Floyd and Clara (Tobin) Casey. She attended Granville School. She worked as a Granville School bus driver, as well as a daycare provider, then after her retirement she worked as a car and parts runner for Vittengl Ford. On June 22, 1957 she married the love of her life, James L. Carrera, Sr. Doris loved spending time with her family; family was the most important thing to her. She enjoyed watchingDays of Our Lives, this was also known as Louie's nap time. She also enjoyed butterflies, angels, camping, flowers and jigsaw puzzles. In addition to her parents; she is predeceased by her husband, James L. Carrera, Sr. in February 2017; her sisters, Mary Wood and Linda Sloan; her brothers, Richard Casey, Lloyd Casey, Claude Casey, Doug Casey, Adie Casey, Junior Casey, Stanley Casey and grandson, Jonathon Lennox. Doris is survived by her 6 children: Debbie (David) Lennox of Middle Granville, Jamie (Karen) Carrera of Queensbury, Floyd Carrera of Granville, Bruce (Bernadette) Carrera of Hebron, Missy (Tom) Morey of Middle Granville, and Judy (Phil) Towne of Granville; 13 Grandchildren: Jessica Lennox of Albany, Michael (Maryanne) Carrera of South Glens Falls, Ryan Carrera of Queensbury, Kelsey Carrera of Queensbury, Emily Carrera of Burlington, Vermont, Beth (Richie) Krupski of Granville, David Carrera stationed in Hawaii, Dànielle Carrera of Syracuse, Christopher (Jennifer) Carrera of Fort Edward, Tiffany Carrera of Hebron, Frederick Morey of Eagle, Idaho, Seamus (Jenelle) Cartmell of Saratoga, Rachael Everts of Granville; 5 Great Grandchildren: Andrew Carrera, Noah Krupski, Arya Krupski, Talia Carrera, Orion Bohannon; 3 Sisters, Betty Perkins of Middle Falls, Lula Hoard of Manchester, Vermont, Bonnie Dufford of Comstock; and her dog, Chloe; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at 11 AM at the Robert M King Funeral Home, 23 Church St., Granville, NY with the Pastor Kevin Gebo presiding. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Middle Granville where she will be rejoined with Louie whom she missed more than words can say. Friends may call on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 from 4-7 pm at the funeral home. The family wishes to thank Dr. Aqeel Gillani and Dr. Darci Gaiotti-Grubbs of the CR Wood Cancer Center.
