Obituary of Catherine Fredlund

Catherine (DeKalb) Fredlund, age 83, passed away at the Rutland Regional Medical Center on January 10, 2024. Catherine was born November 30, 1935 on the family farm in North Bend, the daughter of the late C. Emerson and Pearl (Lee) DeKalb. Cathy was a graduate of Granville High School. She worked for the Race family for many years. She later worked at J&J Lingerie in Granville and Sheridan Corporation in Argyle. Cathy enjoyed reading and had a large collection of books. Her other passion was her flower gardens. She worked with flowers until her failing health no longer allowed her to do so. She is predeceased by her husband Clinton Fredlund, by her parents, her brothers Lee KeKalb and Donald DeKalb and a stepson Gary Fredlund. Catherine is survived by her sisters Freida Wilson of Comstock, Dorothy Parker (Richard) of M. Granville and her brothers Ken DeKalb and Roger DeKalb, a special sister-in-law Sharon DeKalb and a stepson Guy Fredlund of Pawling, NY. Having no children of her own her many nieces and nephews had a special place in her heart. She was loved by many. At her request there will be no calling hours or services.
