Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
North Granville, NY - Robert E. Williams, age 54, passed away on June 28, 2024 following a long battle with cancer, at his home with his family and friends by his side.
Robert was born on January 30th, 1970 in Granville, NY the son of the late William and Mary (Abare) Williams.
For several years he worked with heavy equipment, shears and torches at Eastside Scrap Metal and Recycling, M&B Auto Salvage and with Ray Beckwith. He enjoyed the work at both of the aforementioned businesses and on his own, where he was known as the "junkyard warrior".
In his free time he enjoyed snowmobiling and side by sides with whoever would go riding with him. His favorite pastime was time spent with his grandchildren and many friends. He was very well known by many and no matter what time of the day or night you would never know when the phone would ring for a few hour long chat. He made friends everywhere he went and was loved by all. His heart was always open. Robert enjoyed pit-crewing for his brother's race cars.
Robert was predeceased by his parents, and brother Bryon William and a sister Bernice Petty. He was survived by his ex-wife Linda Williams, whom he still considered his wife and his daughter Heather Neron and her family of Fort Ann, NY and Jenna Burch and her family of Glens Falls, NY. Also left to miss him are his brothers Steve and family of Mt. Holly, William and family of Rutland, VT and Darren and family of Middle Granville, NY. He was blessed with eight wonderful grandchildren that he loved and cherished with all his heart. They were his world. He also had several nieces and nephews that he loved like his own. His very special friends who meant the world to him were Andre Hagadorn Sr., and Jr., Mike Pauquette and Mitchie Barrett.
The family wishes to include a special thanks to High Peaks Hospice for all they did during his illness which allowed him to stay at home with his family.
Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in his name.
His good friends, the Hagadorns are creating his cemetery stone as a permament memory of their friendship.
Friends may call on Friday, July 12, 2024 from 1-3 PM at the Robert M King Funeral Home, 23 Church St., Granville, NY 12832. Following visitation there will be a graveside service at Mettowee Valley Cemetery in Granville, NY.
